Vitos down Cornwall 6-5 in NB-PEI AAA ACTION

QUISPMASIS, NB, December 14, 2012 - The Saint John Vitos squeaked out a win over the Cornwall Thunder 6-5 in NB-PEI Major Midget action Friday night. At one point tjhe Vitos were up 5-3 and then 6-4 but a determined Cornwall team made an interesting end to the game.

The Vitos now face the Moncton Flyers Saturday night at the Red Ball Internet centre at 7:30pm and the Thunder travel home and await a game December 21 when they host Miramichi Rivermen at the APM Centre at 8:00pm

Tyler Gunn was the only Vito to score more than a single goal. He score two and assisted on another. Riley Craft, Thomas Leonard, Jean Michel LeBlanc and Jeremy Holmes supplked the rest of the fire power.



Logan Saunder had a pair of assists and J.M. LeBlanc, Damia Gallant, Andrew Dempsey, Craft and Ryan Dunfield picked up single helpers.

Jonathan Arsenault had two goals for the Thunder. Max Morrison, Dillon Wall and Blaze Bridges scored singles. Alexander McQuaid had a trio of assists while Jean-Marc Evans-Renaud, Abel Arsenault, Ryan Steele, Spencer Sherren, Bridges and Jonathan Arsenault each contributed singles.

Winning goaltender was Jacob King who made 26 saves. Alex Kelly took the loss with 30 saves.

Saint John scored two power play goals and a short handed effort. The Thunder had one power play goal.
